Stop the Discriminatory Proposal that traps women

Stop the Discriminatory Proposal that traps women

This is a call to everyone to stand together to break the patriarchal walls again. The Executive Board of Immigration Department proposed requirements such as Women below 40 years will now need to produce recommendations from the ward office and family consent if they are traveling alone  abroad.

Communication Officer of  the department Tek Narayan Paudel told Setopati (an online news portal) that the proposal was sent to the ministry three days back and the working procedure will soon come into implementation after necessary discussion at the legal section of the ministry.

The proposed bill violates Human Rights. This act has once again raised questions in Women’s equality. The policy clearly states the culture that controls women and even their basic rights.

There are several wiser ways to stop  Human Trafficking and reduce women exploitation. This act clearly shows the need of serious concern from the respective authorities for proper research before any kind of decisions and plans made for the welfare of every human being. The current proposed bill seems to replenish the basic human rights.
